Evaluation Sheet for the

Chinese New Year Dragon

(10 points each)

1.  You drew the head, the body, and the tail of a dragon on three separate pieces of paper (head=9x12” vertical, body=12x18” horizontal, tail=9x12” horizontal). Your dragon's face had to include; ears, antlers, fur/mane, eyes, eyebrows, nose, mouth, teeth, and whiskers. The body and tail were both designed using detailed pattern created with a variety of shapes (organic and geometric) and lines. Once the head, body, and tail were complete, you cut each out and traced the outside of each, creating a second head, body, and tail. You repeated the steps taken to create a face and design on the second pieces of paper and also cut each out.

2.  Once both sides of your dragon were completed, you traced all of your pencil marks (the face and design) with black Sharpy marker. You then colored your dragon, dark and neatly, with crayon, leaving no white space. Each side of your dragon had it's own unique color theme.

3. You carefully glued the first dragon's face, body, and tail together, and repeated those steps for the second side of the dragon. You then glued both dragons together.

4. The overall look and appearance of the artwork and the time and effort you put into your work.
